The old grey 'thing' was a place holder whilst the good shit was updated to the new software version. I really, really should be in bed right now as it's close to three a.m. and I need to be up in about four hours to go driving.

Love it, but miss one thing. There's no navigation at the top of the threads. One must hit the back button (several times occasionally) to get back to sub or main forum.

Uhuh, yeah I deleted the existing navbar (which includes that breadcrumb) because there is a log in section in the right hand column. I've just added code to bring that little navigation bit back. Thanks for pointing it out.
EDIT: I can't seem to find my way back to the main page from my User CP...

Oh... I don't like the rather large circles next to the forum sections... it would be much cooler if it was smaller and simple. The Devious Tyrant logo is sorta bland.
The only thing I like about it is the color theme... and the background.

The original header was much more intricate and I simplified it to get the DT name on there. Will spend some time in PS making it better. Also the large circles are indeed too large, I agree. I'll see if they can be reduce them.
